Pediatric Vaccine Clinics

The CDC and FDA have authorized the use of Pfizer's pediatric COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11.There are multiple opportunities in November for your child to receive their vaccine. A parent or guardian must be present. To find a list of other providers in the area offering the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Yale, Griffin Health, Hartford Healthcare) visit https://www.vaccines.gov/search/.

Moderna Booster Clinic (FULL)

Moderna boosters are available for everyone 18+ years of age who received their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least 6 months ago or their J&J vaccine at least 2 months ago.

Appointments are required. Make your appointment in VAMS at www.vams.cdc.gov:

  • Log in to VAMS.
  • Click "Schedule Appointment."
  • Follow the prompts to make a COVID-19 booster appointment and enter your information.
  • Search for zip code 06851 and look for "Norwalk Health Department Booster Moderna- Senior Center Dec. 18"

Vaccine Clinics at Veteran's Park

Please note that these clinics may close early, and there may be significant wait times. Residents are encouraged to visit vaccines.gov/search to find a vaccine provider in the area.

The City of Norwalk has partnered with Community Health Center, Inc. to provide free COVID-19 vaccine clinics at Veteran's Park. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are available for anyone 18 and older. Pfizer is available for anyone 5 or older. Those 5-17 years of age must have parent/guardian consent. Anyone who is eligible for their first, second, or booster dose can be vaccinated. All clinics are 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. No appointment needed.

Who's Eligible?

All Connecticut residents, workers, and students ages 5 and older are now eligible. Please note that Pfizer is the only vaccine currently authorized for individuals ages 5 - 17, so individuals in that age group must find a provider who offers Pfizer. Many vaccine clinics no longer require appointments for COVID-19 vaccines, but check with each provider for details,

  • a list of vaccine providers near you
  • how to schedule an appointment with each provider
  • whether appointments are available
  • which brand vaccine is offered at each location

  • Call the Health Department's Vaccine Info line at (203) 854-7985 (Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4 pm), or
  • Dial 2-1-1 and choose option 5

The City of Norwalk has partnered with the Norwalk Senior Center and Senior Services Coordinating Council to launch phone assistance lines for Norwalk seniors seeking information regarding COVID-19 vaccines. Seniors may call the Norwalk Senior Center at (203) 847-3115 (English) or (203) 299-1500 (Español), or Senior Services Coordinating Council at (203) 434-3085 or (203) 434-1876 for assistance.

COVID-19 Vaccinations at Home

If you or someone you know is unable to make it to a COVID vaccine clinic, they may be eligible to get their vaccine at home. We're partnering with Community Health Centers Inc. (CHC, Inc.) to offer Norwalkers free vaccination at home. Call CHC Inc. at 475-231-7706 if you are interested or have questions. Booster Shots

All three COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J) are nowauthorized for booster doses. If you have questions about whether you should get a booster, please talk to your health care provider.

Who is Eligible?

Everyone ages 18 and older should get a booster shot!

On November 29, 2021, the CDC said that everyone ages 18 and older should get a booster shot either when they are 6 months after their initial Pfizer or Moderna series or 2 months after their initial J&J vaccine.

At least 6 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series.

At least 2 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination.

Where Can Eligible Individuals Get their Booster?

You should be able to get your booster anywhere that offers the vaccine brand you want. In addition to the clinics listed in our weekly schedule at the top of the page, many pharmacies, retailers, and health care providers in our area are offering booster shots. Each provider sets their own hours and appointment procedures, so please check with providers for details.

More Details

On August 23, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave FULL approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. More info at   fda.gov .

On November 2, 2021,  the CDC authorized the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 years old. More info at cdc.gov.

Mayor Rilling hosted a series of Community Conversations around the COVID-19 vaccine.
